About Dr. Kwan

Charisse Kwan is Director of the Paediatric Emergency Medicine Point of Care Ultrasound Program and Fellowship Director at The Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto, Canada. She is currently an Assistant Professor in the Department of Paediatrics at the University of Toronto and works as a PEM physician at the The Hospital for Sick Children. Dr. Kwan has developed and taught many national and international PEM POCUS workshops integrating low-fidelity simulation into ultrasound learning. She is also interested in how people of all levels learn POCUS and is researching learning curves, deliberate practice and assessment scales. The rest of her time and interests are now taken up by her newborn son, yet she will still find the time to discuss anything PEM POCUS!
