Advocating for global diagnostic change through point-of-care ultrasound technology since 2011

Headquartered in Toronto, The Hospital for Sick Children’s (SickKids) Paediatric Emergency Medicine (PEM) point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS) program specializes in improving the emergent care of ill and injured children everywhere through the use of disruptive technology, POCUS.

POCUS challenges an existing market by offering a low-cost alternative which successfully meets the minimum relevancy requirement compared to current ultrasound technology. POCUS represents a new niche, within an existing market, where competition is absent. It is both different from and in conflict with traditional diagnostic or procedural guidance.

Whether you practice in oncology, anesthesia or dermatology, POCUS offers a versatile and functional method for diagnosis and can be integrated into almost any medical practice. The PEM POCUS Program at SickKids .  Through the open source distribution of educational materials we hope to promote quality in training and practice across the globe.
